Functional Description of Information System

In general , MEPS is known to be the intermediaries that connects member banks , enabling them to have interconnected networks that allows transactions in between banks in the country and even internationally . Listed are more detailed functions of of Shared ATM network.
•    Shared ATM Network

MEPS provides the Shared ATM Network switch which enable bank customers to conveniently access their funds anywhere from any of the participating banks’ ATMs. Gone were the days when ATM is only for cash withdrawal or balance inquiry. Today, there are many interbank facilities being offered to bank customers. , thus giving the option for customers to withdraw their cash even when their bank service provider is not in sight , or doing transaction at any MEPS certified member of banks.

•    Interbank ATM Funds Transfer (IBFT)

Interbank ATM Funds Transfer (IBFT) allows bank customers to transfer funds from one account to another account in another bank. The beneficiary will receive the funds immediately and instantaneously, as the transfer is online and in real-time. This service is offered nowadays on all Automated teller machine and also online , whichever there is a computer and if the bank itself offers online internet banking.

•    Interbank Mobile Prepaid Top-Up

Interbank Mobile Prepaid Top Up offers more convenience and hassle-free for mobile phone subscribers to top-up through Interbank ATM. Customer can choose “prepaid reload” option from the main menu of any Automated Teller Machine and reload their prepaid number airtime on any of this three telco service provider . The amount of the desired airtime reload will be deducted directly from the customer’s bank account.
